World Travelers...Global Citizens...Church World Service Benefactors
Clyde, a retired engineering professor, and Betsy, a teacher of English as a second language, make their home on the Connecticut shore. Retirement, though, hasn't slowed down this dynamic couple.
Betsy has served as president of the Connecticut Women of the United Church of Christ and past-president of Church Women United in both Connecticut and Massachusetts. She is also co-coordinator, and Clyde treasurer of their CROP Hunger Walk, which has raised over a $100,000 dollars to combat hunger.
Having visited many projects funded by Church World Service during their travels, Clyde and Betsy make many presentations each year to church and school groups, sharing their experiences and observations to encourage others to support the work as well.
Not content with what they are doing now, they want to make sure that their giving to CWS continues beyond their lifetime. Clyde has named Church World Service as the contingent beneficiary of his retirement account (after his wife) and they have also made an outright bequest to CWS in their wills.
